Dytran Instruments specializes in developing and building piezoelectric accelerometers, load cells, pressure transducers and impulse hammers. Established in 1980, Dytrans sensors and accelerometers have been used in Automotive, Aircraft, Building & Construction, Satellites and many more for research, monitoring and other purposes. Dytran also spearheads the development and application of single axis and triaxial DC MEMS style accelerometers with state-of-the-art variable capacitance accelerometer sensing elements.

Dytran VIBRASCOUT 6D™ USB Triaxal Vibration Sensor

Dytran Vibrascout 6DTM is a plug-and-play sensor designed for fast and effecient recording, measuring and analyzing. Powered by a USB, Dytran Vibrascout 6DTM sensors feature a 6 degrees of freedom sensor with a 3-axis MEMS accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, and on board temperature sensor. From its unique USB port design, the Vibrascout 6DTM does not require  a Data Acquisition System (DAS). Measurements of X,Y,Z axis, acceleration, roll, pitch, yaw and temperature can be easily transfer and read using a laptop or tablet using the Vibrascout 6DTM analysis.

Various sensors

Dytran has over 300 different models of Accelerometers for different situations and environments. Accelerometers come in Pizoelectrical and DC response and in different voltage, weight and size. Some Accelerometer is designed multipurpose while others work best in specific conditions such as high temperatures, high pressures, airborne ect. All Accelerometers are backed with an extensive line of accessories and cables that are compatible with them..

Dytran’s Force Sensors comes in charged mode and integrated circuit piezoelectric (IEPE) configurations. Both configurations are designed to measure both compressive and tensile forces accurately over a wide frequency range. Dytran’s Force senors come in wide variety of shape and sizes for modal & structural analysis, process control, press monitoring and other measurements.

Dytran’s Pressure Sensors comes in charged mode and integrated circuit piezoelectric(IEPE) configurations. Both configurations have a large variety of models for various PSI and Temperature and can be used in hydraulics and pneumatics, liquid & gas systems and other industries.

The Dytran IEPE impedance head, consisting of a 100 mV/g accelerometer and a 100 mV/lbf force sensor within the same module. The design allows it to simultaneously measure driving force and resultant acceleration at the point of force applied to a test article making it perfect for modal and structural analysis.

Dytrans impulse hammers come in various sizes for different users and needs. The large sledge hammer models are perfect for testing heavy structures such as concrete pillars, storage tanks, pipelines ect. while the ultra miniature impulse hammer is built for testing very low mass, high resonant frequency components such as turbine blades and PC boards.
The flagship Dytran Dynapulse™ series impulse hammers are incorporated with a special acceleration compensated piezoelectric force sensor in the hammer head ensuring a smooth frequency spectrum free from anomalies. This ensures the most precise readings for overall structural health of machine parts, structures, car frames and also when determining root causes of failures.

To provide the various sensors, Dytran has a large range of support electronic equipment, accessories and cables. This includes various amplifiers and adapters for the sensors, sensor mounts, sensor simulators and signal conditioners.
