ACOUSTIC MATERIAL TESTING
Acoustic material testing is a method of evaluating the sound-absorbing properties of materials. This is typically done by measuring the sound transmission loss (STL) of a material, which is the difference in sound pressure level (SPL) between the sound on one side of the material and the sound on the other side. The higher the STL, the better the material is at blocking sound. Acoustic material testing is often used in construction, automotive, and industrial applications to ensure that materials meet specific sound-absorbing requirements. The test can be done by using sound wave generators, microphones, and data analysis software.
