AGI STK Virtual Training Classes
You are invited to AGI's upcoming virtual STK training classes. These classes will focus on Level 2 lessons that were updated in the most recent STK 12.9 release. Don’t miss this opportunity—space is limited, so register today!
Introduction to STK's Pro Capabilities
Date: 17 Sep 2024, Time: 12pm to 1pm ET
This class will introduce you to STK's Pro capabilities. Learn how to quickly determine if local terrain is affecting visibility between your ground sites and satellites to understand impact on communications, imaging, and general situational awareness. You will use STK to load a DEM file to analyze the impact of local terrain on line of sight between a ground station and GPS satellites.
Upon completion of this class, you will be able to:
- Use local terrain files for analysis
- Create images from terrain data that show elevation colored by height
- Convert a single image into a format that can be displayed in the 3D graphics window
- Create terrain inlays for a specific region
- Model a Constellation and Chain object
Follow along on your computer as an instructor walks you through this focused STK lesson. AGI engineers will be available during the session to answer your questions live.
Customize Analysis with STK Analysis Workbench
Date: 19 Sep 2024 , Time: 12pm to 1pm ET
Use additional capabilities in STK to create custom functions and calculations relative to times, positions, and reference frames. You will learn how to use STK's Analysis Workbench capability to create vectors, custom angles, calculations, time components and temporal constraints, to determine when a sensor can safely track a satellite.
Upon completion of this class, you will understand the following Analysis Workbench Tools:
- Vector Geometry Tool
- Time Tool
- Calculation Tool
Follow along on your computer as an instructor walks you through this advanced STK lesson. AGI engineers will be available during the session to answer your questions live.
Introduction to Az/EI Mask Tool and Volumetrics
Date: 26 Sep 2024, Time: 12pm to 1.30pm ET
In this class, you will learn how to use STK, STK’s Coverage capability, and STK’s Analysis Workbench to quickly determine if the Earth, local terrain, nature and man-made structures affect visibility between ground sites and satellites. You will learn how terrain and a radome enclosure affect a radar’s field of view. You will configure communications between ground sites and satellites under the constraints of local terrain and man-made structures.
Upon completion of this class, you will understand:
- The AzEl Mask tool
- The Analysis Workbench Spatial Analysis tool
- The Analysis Workbench Time tool
- The Volumetric object

Perform Trade with Analyzer
Date: 8 October 2024, Time: 12pm to 1pm ET
Determine how orbital parameters such as semi-major axis, eccentricity, inclination, argument of perigee, right ascension of the ascending node, or true anomaly will affect the ability of a sensor or camera to view the surface of the Earth. In this class, you will run multiple trade studies to determine how inclination, eccentricity, or a combination of both will affect the percentage of coverage over the entire Earth during a 24-hour period.
Follow along on your computer as an instructor walks you through this advanced STK lesson. AGI engineers will be available during the session to answer your questions, live.
Introduction to STK Communications
Date: 15 Oct 2024, Time: 12pm to 1pm ET
Learn how to use STK's Communications capability to model and analyze a link budget between a ground site and an Earth observation satellite.
Upon completion of this tutorial you will understand:
- Receiver and Transmitter objects
- STK Antenna models
- RF Environment properties
- Simple and detailed link budgets
